For Dr. Goldstein - orgasm after vestibulectomy

Dear Dr. Goldstein,

I recently read your article "Surgical Treatment of VVS: Outcome Assessment Derived From a Post Operative Questionnaire", and would appreciate it very much if you could clarify a few details regarding post operative ability to achieve orgasm.
First, did this question on your questionnaire refer to any type of orgasm (that is, either through penetration or clitoral stimulation), or only through penetration? Second, in the 9% that experienced a decrease in this ability, were you able to determine the cause?

Thank you very much in advance!

Re: For Dr. Goldstein - orgasm after vestibulectomy

It was not investigated further and statistically more women had increase in orgasm after vestibulectomy than a decrease. I really have no idea why the surgery could decrease orgasm because it does not affect the clitoris or G-spot. I actually believe that the women may have confused arousal/wetness - which is decreased in 25% of women after vestibulectomy with orgasm but I cannot be sure.
