chronic perineal tear and re-tear

I've been searching for an answer for months and I would say this really is the best site among all!

I have been having problems with spotting/tearing after sex and it has been for months now. At first I thought it was just probably from the rough sex but one day I finally took a mirror and looked at the vaginal area and I found a tear on the posterior fourchette. I went to an OBGYN and I was told that "there is nothing I can do. All I can say is use lubricants and find out what position can prevent it from happening." No. It wasn't helpful. I have to wait for a week to let it heal every time after my boyfriend and I have sex and it re-tears every single time. It doesn't matter how much lube we used, foreplay didn't do the trick, and position doesn't make any difference. I almost can feel the "popping" of my skin when his penis enters my vagina.

I'm only 23 year old so I don't think I have the menopause or post-menopause problem. I am on Levora and have been on it for over a year now. All my STD, yeast, and bacteria test came back negative. This is very frustrating and I don't want to take "there is nothing I can do" as an answer from any doctor.

Today I pushed the limit a little bit and we had sex before I let it healed. This time I really bled and it was definitely bright red blood.

I need a vulvar specialist but I can't find any in my area. I'm in San Diego so if anybody know a specialist who takes insurance please post it here. I would really appreciate it!

Re: chronic perineal tear and re-tear

Although we can't supply the names of vulvovaginal specialist you might try calling some of the larger hospitals in your area and ask their Gyn dept. if they can recommend someone who specializes in vulvovaginal pain. Check your phone book for doctors who treat vestibulitis call them and ask if they have experience whith this condition. Hope this helps.

Re: chronic perineal tear and re-tear

I AM working at one of the larger hospitals in the area. I can only found obgyn who are in the International study of Vulvovaginal disease Society but under his specialties it didn't say that he's specialized in this area. This is so frustrating.

Call his office and ask if he specializes in vulvovaginal pain or if they know any doctor that does.
