I am currently changing my diet to not eat any high oxalate foods and I'm going to start taking calcium citrate. This diet is very difficult to follow in my opinion. Is there anyone out there who has had success with this????? How long should I wait to see if it is working?
This diet is very frustrating and I don't know how to explain to others why I am following this diet. I've really cut down on oxalates for 2 months with 0 result. (Just to note, I don't drink milk and that isn't supposed to be good for oxalates..)
I would suggest you stop following this diet because there's no empirical evidence that the oxalate diet works. We are suffering enough so we shouldn't make ourselves suffer even more by cutting down on things we need to be happy like food we like.
By the way...serveral gyns told me not to follow the oxalate diet because malnutrition is often a consequence.
I have to agree with Suffering. I have met some patients whom are taking away more and more foods from their diets and are now very thin and unhealthy in a nutrition way.

yes, agreed. I don't think this is going to cure my problem. I've done the diet for 2 months.. only to feel more tired and less healthy with no improvement. Not following it anymore... but, still very frustrated.
