TOPIC: Posture and pelvic pain

2 years, 9 months ago #24212

Posture and pelvic pain

I believe that poor posture in my case, at least, is a main contributor to my pelvic pain. It is obvious to me that my gait has changed (shorter strides), my back arches (lordosis), my head is in a forward position with shoulders raised. Do others recognize postural differences in themselves? When I wake up initially the pain is the worst, I believe from my side sleeping fetal position. Doing pelvic tilts, back and hip flexor exercises, movements is helpful. I continuously have tried to be conscious of my neck and shoulder position. It does seem to help.

Re: Posture and pelvic pain

Proper posture and breathing techniques are usually the first thing I discuss with my patients! If we are not stacked well from head to toe, toe to head, our muscles are not in the best or most functional positions. keep working on a neutral chin/chin tuck, don't let the shoulders round forward, and neutralize your spine. Sounds like you are doing great work!
