I was experiencing sharp jabby pains in my rectum and my pt did internal work on the muscles inside the rectum and now I am experiencing this intense burning feels like I need to stick an ice cube up there, is this normal???

Do you suffer from hemmorrhoids? If yes, they could be inflamed.
Is this the 1st time you have had intrarectal work? If yes, you may be flaring a little from it.
Just like the vaginal tissue, the rectal tissue may be frail and weakened/thin, so when this work was done it may have irritated the area.
Just some thoughts...

BTW, I would not stick an ice cube in the rectum, but you can sit on some frozen peas or cold gel pack, just make sure there is something between your skin and the ice.

thanks for your response, how long does this last? I felt better prior to having this done:(
the muscles were sooooo sore when she pressed them and Im still feeling that kind of pain and burniness. Also, my vestibule pain seemed to be getting a little better but now it seems like it is flaring since she worked on the rectal area

How do I prevent this from happening again? How do you prevent the tissue from being irritated?

Are you doing any self internal (vaginal or rectal) on yourself? Like I mentioned above, and don't if u have this, but if there are hemorrhoids this could be causing some irritation.
If you were feeling better prior, maybe take a break from rectal work.
