Did any of you have a Vestibulectomy with Bartholin Gland (BG) removal? If so it would be great to get feedback regarding what doctor performed your surgery & how you've healed post-op.

I'm trying to locate doctors that perform BG removal and would love to hear from others that may be able to provide physician referrals.

Hi Deeice,

Just out of curiosity, is there a particular reason you want the Bartholin Glands removed? A lot of times they aren't a part of the surgery because it lengthens the healing time, among other reasons. Is that something your doctor recommended?

I had a Vulvar Vestibulectomy back in 2006. Before my surgery I informed the doctor my BG's (or BG ducts) were causing me significant pain and requested they be removed during this procedure. He said he doesn't remove BG's when performing a Vestibulectomy. So I had the surgery and waited a year to fully heal. Sure enough my left BG is still very painful and interferes with my ability to sit comfortably.

I've since had two physicians confirm my continued pain is indeed coming from my left BG (duct?) and should be removed. I'm having tremendous difficulty locating a doctor skilled enough to remove them?

I am having a vestibulectomy with BG removal in two weeks. Doctor is Dr. Barbara O'Connell in Madison Wi.
