Pain three weeks after vestibulectomy

I had my surgery 3 weeks ago, just a partial verstibulectomy and no glands removed. The pain was not as bad as I expected and I dealt pretty well with it. All the stitches are removed by now and the left side of my vestibule is healing nicely and is feeling good wehn I touch it. But the right side of the vestibule is hurting realy bad. It hurts when I sit and when I touch it or when I stand for a long time. The pain is different from the pain I had before the surgery. Before it was more a burning sensation and now it feels like an open and very damaged wound.

I have the next appointment in three weeks time but it's really confusing me that one side is feeling good but the other is much worse than before the surgery.

Dr Goldstein, what could be the cause? Can it happen that the stitches were removed too early or that the scar isn't healing nicely? What can I do?

Re:Pain three weeks after vestibulectomy

i didn't write an update because i didn't want to scare anyone but i'm really desperate and don't know what to do....
I had the surgery on 4th december, now it's 20th february and the whole scar is veryvery painful, it's kind of a dull pain rather than the burning sensation you have with vestibulitis. my doctor says that the scar looks nice and i shouldn't feel any pain anymore: but i still do!! I have more pain than before the surgery!
So I went to see an other gyn and she says the the scar is very hard and needs some massage. But every time I massage it, it hurts afterwards even more.
What the *** should I do now? The surgeon to whom I went is the specialist in my country, I really don't know who I could ask for advice now?

Re:

i saw that you answered my post some days ago. but somehow it's not showing any content in your post. could you write it again please?

i still feel the same....i can do sports when i use numbing gel. but before the surgery i could do almost any sport (no cycling though) without any pain and without using numbing gel.

i don't know what to do...

Re:

What country do you live in Suffering?

I chatted with a researcher in Montreal, and he said some physicians are nervous to refer women to surgery because some feel ever worse after, or the pain comes back.

I'm hopefully going to get a botox clinic to try injections as no clinics will do this (unless you are a resident, as in Alberta and BC).

I wish you the best!
