I recently got my first pack of birth control ever: Yaz. There's two rules: take it the Sunday following your menses (period) or take it 24 hours within the onset of your period. Here's the dilemma: I'm flying to see my boyfriend soon (the 6th of August maybe) and today's the 30th and I still haven't started my period yet. From a doctor's perspective, would it be safe/okay to take it early? I haven't started my period yet and I'm afraid if I don't take it now, I wouldn't be covered at all seeing as how you need 7 days for it to reach its' effectiveness. Help?

You need to call your Gyn and speak to him/her or the nurse about your particular problem in the timing.Or if there is a 1-800 number for the product call it for more information.
