Amy Stein, MPT author of " Healing Pelvic Pain&quot

I am wondering if anyone had any questions regarding the ABC 20/20 segment on Female Sexual Dysfunction, that aired on Fri, Aug 7th? I would be happy to try to address any questions. Please be aware that I am not on the site every day, but I will get back to you as quickly as possible. Don't be afraid to ask any type of question.

Sincerely,

Amy

No, I wish I had seen it. Are there any scheduled repeats, or is it available on the Internet?

The 20/20 video was interesting as I noticed that those stretches are often used on exercise videos.

My question is: will performing your stretches eliminate pain from intercourse? If so, when done as specified - 2 times a day - how soon would a person expect to start seeing progress?

The exercises will help with verious forms of pelvic pain, painful intercourse being one of them. Having treated this for 10+ years, I unfortunately have never seen the STRETCHES ALONE eliminate pain. It helps with the pain. What I have seen work for musculoskeletal causes of sexual and pelvic floor dysfucntion is physical therapy: internal and external manual therapy, Specific STRETCHES, relaxation techniques and self-care. My book has a lot more detail then the 7 minute video, but the best thing to do would be to see a practitioner to put you in the direct direction: aptawomenshealth.org, pelivcpain.org, nva.org, ichelp.org

Good luck.
