Re: Endiometriosis/Lupron

I took Lupron shots before my 7 year old son was conceived. It makes your body think it is going through menopause, therefore you have some of the symptoms (hot flashes). It was worth it for me, I conceived thr month after I finished the shots.
------------------
Kim Scott

[Note: This message has been edited by NEWSHE Moderator]

Re: Endiometriosis/Lupron

There seems to be a lot of negativity about Lupron. I took the shots about 8 years ago because my dr. said that is what I needed to do. I have not had any of the negative effects that I have read about lately. I think it is up to each person to decide what they should do. I always would advise getting another opinion and doing research if you are unsure about anything.

Re: Endiometriosis/Lupron

Ms. Moderator...
As you're probably aware, I disagree with your moderation techniques...but that aside-this isn't about me...
This thread did have some reasonably decent links (I looked at a few of them before they got nuked...) - perhaps you feel you can't allow them, and that's too bad.
But - it *is* afterall your website, and you can choose what to allow and what isn't allowed.
I think though, that you should make a prominant display of the "rules" that you choose to enforce. Your standards have varied greatly over the last six months, and many of us find them more than a bit confusing. (and frustrating!)
Perhaps it would be in order to have a FAQ that presented clear guidelines to the posters what they should and should not post - then people wouldn't waste their time gathering information for others just to have it deleted, like the poster in this thread.
In this case, as in others I've seen, it seemed like an honest attempt to give a pretty good base of opinion - even though you and I might disagree with the conclusions. It wasn't a SPAM type set of links. It wasn't even a set of sites that "compete" with yours. I don't think a single link I saw was commercial - though I wasn't paying lots of attention... Yet you still deleted it.
I've even seen you delete links to ISSWSH - an organization to which your employers (The Berman's) belong, and which has a charter that demands the education of the masses on issues of sexual health.
The basic problem here, is that we never know what we can/should post, and when it might be summarily deleted.
(I also think you're exposing yourselves to dramatically higher legal hazards by being so agressive in your moderation - and I really do recommend that you seek legal counsel on this matter - but again, that's not the point of this post.)
So, would you please take the time to create a FAQ on posting rules? The readers and people who post here really do deserve your consideration - and a clear delineation of the "rules."
Cheers,
Greg

Legal hazards? They're allowed to do what they wish with their own site.I see you try to get women to visit your own site.I'm glad newshe doesn't allow you to link an unprofessional so-called FSD site run by men with God knows what agenda.

[Note: This message has been edited by NEWSHE Moderator]

Re: Endiometriosis/Lupron

Slingergirl...
You'll note that I said exactly that...
"But - it *is* afterall your website, and you can choose what to allow and what isn't allowed."
I and others would like a clear message about what kinds of links and information is allowed here.
I've found a way to live with the current state of these "rules" but they're not clear to others here. I hate to see people go to the effort to give something, only to have their efforts wasted. (So, it's not for my benefit, but others - women potentially!)
So, clear rules would at least allow the opportunity for people to know what was acceptable and what wasn't.
As far as I can tell, the links deleted were posted by a woman, who was trying to help out someone else who was considering Lupron treatment. I didn't see a reason to delete them, but again, it's not my forum. So, clear rules, spelled out somewhere would be really helpful.
You're welcome to have your opinions - that's the beauty of our country ,cheer up - the world isn't out to oppress you.
Cheers,
Greg
[This message has been edited by distressed_12345 (edited 27 January 2003).]

[
[Note: This message has been edited by NEWSHE Moderator]

Re: Endiometriosis/Lupron

With all due respect, Slingergirl, I must defend Greg's website. It may not be 'professional' as you claim, but I've found a level of freedom and compassion there by men as well as women without that creeping feeling of wondering if the post will be deleted or edited.
FSD doesn't just affect the woman. It affects the couple as a whole. Just because the person who started or participants are men doesn't make what is posted any less beneficial. They do have a side of the story. Some of the most thought provoking posts were made by the men thank you very much.
As for their agenda, that's clear. Maybe if you actually hung around a bit more that'd be clear to you. It's to help women (and maybe their mates also) without any commercial interests whatsoever. He does this at mostly his own expense. I for one have learned much from both of these sites.

jh1076
You were helping, and I for one appreciate your taking the time to do so. Thanks! I'm not sure I agree that Lupron is always a bad thing, but I'm pretty uneducated on the whole thing... The point was, you took the time to give some information to someone looking for help. Each reader must be a judge for themselves about the truth and wisdom in the information given.
Anyway - Thanks! (Mine aren't in a bunch - well, then again, I don't wear panties. *grin*)
hariya
I'm humbled by your praise. *Thank you!*
You're right, I'm simply trying to get a wide range of information to people who are searching for answers - ones that I've searched for and am still searching for, for myself/us.
As a recent poster put it - this isn't something you can exactly talk about with friends and family, so having a place to talk and find the sources of information to review, anonymously, is really helpful. My only goal is to try to help educate people in how to address these stressful and difficult issues in their lives. What they do with that knowledge is up to them.
Again, it's hard for me to describe, but I really appreciate your thanks.
Thank you!
Greg

[This message has been edited by distressed_12345 (edited 27 January 2003).]

There are good, supportive people, like yourself, reaching out to help each other on their journeys.

Distressed's agenda is clear. His wife has low interest.Hariya, are you aware the other male on their forum,Doctor,
is in pharmaceutical research and directly profits personally by finding a way to prove the effectiveness of drugs in FSD?
I'm a super positive gal with a healthy skepticism.I'm glad the Bermans see both sides of the
coin.
