Zaneblue diet great but....

But I am getting major acne! Do you think this could be from too much fish oil? I hate to blame the diet, but it's the only thing that I've been doing differently. Any suggestions?

On the positive side, the diet along with the gyneflex are doing wonders for my sex life. THANK YOU ZANEBLUE!!! The results are so wonderful to me that I will certainly put up with the acne if I have to, but if there is a way to lessen it, that would be great of course. Here I am looking less attractive than usual (with zits all over my face) and at the same time my libido is much higher than usual! Pretty funny.

Re: Zaneblue diet great but....

The diet gives you teenager hormones. On the bad side, that may mean acne. On the good side, it seems to slow down the signs of aging in the skin. I look younger than most women my age.

The best thing is to try to avoid starchy, sugary foods. And of course use a more teenager-appropriate facial soap and try to keep your hands off your face.

Another thing women may notice is that while they may have been able to go two or even three days without washing their hair, on my diet you generally have to wash your hair every day.

Re: Zaneblue diet great but....

Yeah, I FEEL like a teenager! Which I have to admit, is a lot of fun! I kind of had the sense that was it; I felt more hormonal in general, and I guess the acne just goes along with it. All in all, I'll take it!

Thanks for the advice...time to get some clearasil or proactive I guess!

I don't know what's in the fish oil, but I thought omega-3 fatty was used to treat acne (antiinflammatory etc.). Western diets with high ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids promote acne. ?

Re: Zaneblue diet great but....

Women on my diet get oilier skin and hair. I think that sometimes outweighs any anti-inflammatory effect with respect to acne. Just being honest and reporting my observations.

It's really pretty obvious when a woman over thirty goes on the diet. One of the preschool moms at my daughter's old preschool went on it and I could tell just from looking at her face--I asked her and she had been on the diet two weeks.

That glow that pregnant women get is similar.

Re: Zaneblue diet great but....

I can attest to that - I've dealt with dry skin and hair all my life, and since I've been on the diet things are much, much improved.

One suggestion: aloe vera juice, about 1 tablespoon a day mixed into a glass of fruit juice (tastes awful straight). As a teenager growing up in Jamaica I took that for my acne and it worked like a charm. You can find food-grade aloe vera juice at health/natural food stores.

Re: Zaneblue diet great but....

Wow...great tip about the aloe juice; I'll try it! I'm off the diet for just a few days now, in order to try and clear up my skin. But I'll go back on it soon, because the sexual benefits are extraordinary. I love feeling 'horny' again and having sexual thoughts. I haven't felt this way since I was a teenager. So I guess the acne is fitting!

Re: Zaneblue diet great but....

Zaneblue - Darling! Here's the 'weekend update"...

My name is Bruce, I live in Denver. We spoke on the phone a few times, about the diet and life and stuff.. this would have been two summers ago. I *really* enjoyed getting acquainted with you. I'm the guy who introduced you to Jack Johnston. I love both of you!

Anyway, I have to tell you about something funny that happened a few weeks ago. I met a woman and taught her the Key Sound Multiple Orgasm (KSMO) technique, and checked in with her a few days later to see how she was doing.. she was kind of quiet, but said in a really intense voice, "I had a *great* week... but... how do I turn it off?"

As it happens, her homeopath had her taking 16 fish oil capsules a day! After one quick KSMO lesson with me and one practice session by herself, she was flying off the handle all day at work, random guys were coming up to here and talking to her all the time, her female coworker was rubbing against her, the guy at burrito stand was gaping at her, etc., etc. And she said that previously men considered her "unapproachable". After I "talked her down", she has moderated her practice of the KSMO and is integrating it better. Poor kid thought she was going off her rocker...

Next time I'll check for fish oil consumption before I accidentally create another monster ;~)

Now - I have a question for myself:

Is there any way to get what fish oil gives me dopamine-wise without the fish oil? I have acne right away on one pill two days in a row and I go downhill from there.

I googled the heck out of the question on this site and didn't find anything.

I have heard that the common garden weed called chickweed is a great source of omega-3 and I gobble the stuff up when I find it in the yard...

any suggestions?

You are adorable! Congrats on the book and all the attention - Rachel Ray etc. Keep up the good work!

Re: Zaneblue diet great but....

So what is KMSO and how can we learn it???

As for the acne, I have found that trying different brands of fish oil helped a lot. Some brands I was very sensitive to and others I can tolerate quite a bit, with only a little acne. Nordic Naturals works well for me.

Good luck!
