I've recently been prescribed Testosteron Cream for a low libido and have to apply it clitorially, but I'm not sure where to apply it and the one time I did I felt a little itchy. Any one else have this problem. I feel stupid asking this but am not sure where to apply. Can anyone help?

My MD, Dr. Berman told me initially to apply only to vulva. I would check with your health care provider.

You actually can apply it just about anywhere and it will work just fine with less irritation. I was told anywhere you are not tan like your butt, thighs, tummy, upper arms etc. And change from day to day as to where you apply. Many women get irritated or worse, trying to apply genitally and give up not realising it can also be very well absorbed in other areas.

Siren is correct, you can apply it anywhere you are not tan. But for me, I do not vary from Dr. Berman's plan for me and I have not experienced any irritation at all. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones? What happens if you don't vary it? I've used it as prescribed for 3 months and have not experienced any ill effects except some increase in sexual thoughts and some dreams which is a huge improvement. I even had my vulva waxed so the creme would be more readily absorbed. Now that was an experience to write about...oh my gosh......not for the weak stomached person.......Eyebrows are worse....but not as embarassing....LOL<P>Pinkrose

tanning makes your skin *TOUGHER* so it is probably somewhat less permeable. Even so I have at times applied my gel on tan arms or legs and it wasn't a problem.I have been using it long enough that I get a tingle, a little sexual *Rush* so to speak a few hours after I apply it. This was not the case for the first few years, but I can feel when it *Hits* I* think the reason for genital application probgably has to do with proximity to the area that should be affected and if that is the case and the theory is correct , you might get an effect with a lesser amount. My doctor didn't go with this theory but more that it needs to be in the general blood supply. Hope I was clear.<p>[This message has been edited by the siren (edited 03 January 2003).]
