I had a straddle injury (fell onto a piece of equipment that cut through the skin) when I was a kid. I didn't receive any medical treatment although it was very painful at the time.

Since then, my clitoral area has been sensitive. It's a slight sharp pain; feels like someone tried to pull the clitoral hood off really, if that makes any sense; but it's not intense. It gets alot worse when I touch it. For the past 25 years since or so, I just tolerated it as normal. I didn't even take much notice of it anymore until I accidentally scrubbed that area too hard while showering a few weeks back. Now the pain's a bit more intense but I am still able to ignore it.

Since I haven't had sex nor do I masturbate, ignoring it has worked for me for years.

But eventually, I'd like to have sex, maybe even masturbate sometime. Is it possible to treat an injury that took place 25 years ago? Should I even bother going to gyno now? Would it be permanent by now? How in the world am I going to have sex without it feeling like hell?

Please do see your Gyn. The pain you feel now may be from something else.Let the doctor determine if it is from your old injury.And (ouch) don't scrub the vulva area ,gentle does it.
