TOPIC: pregnancy possible with vulvar vestibulitis???

pregnancy possible with vulvar vestibulitis???

I have had vulvar vestibulitis off and on my whole life. I have it as of now badly, but it is only with intercourse. I am looking to become pregnant in about a year with my husband. I'm wondering what my options are for having a healthy baby in the future? I would have surgery, but in some cases this makes the problem worse.. and I prefer to first see if there's a safe way to become pregnant without surgery. Is it safe to use lidocaine or estrogen during trying to become pregnant? I have never used these, but I'm in the process of finding a doctor as soon as I have in insurance (in 3-4 months :/ ) I live in France which makes things even more difficult in finding good info and a doctor. Thank you for any help.

Re: pregnancy possible with vulvar vestibulitis???

It is definitely possible to have a healthy baby when you have vulvar vestibulitis, and surgery is not always necessary, especially if your condition is intermittent. You do want to consult an OB/GYN though about what you should use and what you should use while trying to get pregnant. There are practitioners in France (just not sure exactly where). Look for one on the following websites: www.pelvicpain.org, www.ica.org and there is an International Physical therapy association that may have listings.
