sleep masterbating

I am a 32 year old female, married almost 4 years, together with now husband 15 years. Only partner I have had. He is telling me that I masterbate in my sleep and I will look right at him sometimes. But I have NO memory of this at all. He also says that my body viberates and he can feel it when he touches me and sometimes just across the bed. This is causing severe problems and I do not know what to do. Can anyone help!!!!!!!!

Re: sleep masterbating

Why is this causing such a problem? You can't help what you do in your sleep.

Re: sleep masterbating

forgive me I am new at this on line thing. Well on thing I will not respond to his advances during the night in a nice way to him. He seems to thing that I am aware of this and lying about it. don't get me wrong he is very caring about my feelings & needs during lovemaking
quote:
Originally posted by Iam:
Why is this causing such a problem? Re: sleep masterbating

Try some research into the psychology of sleep walking. It must be linked in some way I would assume.

Re: sleep masterbating

This may sound bizarre, but there is a sleep disorder called "sleep sex". It is like sleep walking and you don't remember any of it once you wake up. My husband often starts things in his sleep, ranging from humping to complete penetration. If I try to return his affection, he grumbles at me to leave him alone and let him sleep. He remembers nothing.

Re: sleep masterbating

I babysat for the children of some friends about 2 years ago.
About one hour after I had put the children to bed, the youngest (7 yrs. old)errupted into the sitting-room, crying and loudly sobbing. She sat beside me and I hugged and rocked her for about 10 minutes, then she took my hand and led me straight back to her bedroom, to bed. I became aware, by the time we reached the bedroom that, although the child appeared to be fully awake, she was, in fact, completely asleep and was sleep-walking/crying/talking etc.
I found the incident rather extraordinary.

Re: sleep masterbating

Next morning, she had absolutely no recollection of the event.

Re: sleep masterbating

I did something similar to a babysitter once. I was in brownies (6 or 7 years old), and we learned the proper way to put on bandaids. I took it off before bed, and my folks went out and we had a babysitter. I guess I totally freaked her out when I came into the living room later with my arms stretched out in front of me and in a weird voice saying "where's my bandaid" The told me about it the next day and I had no memory of it...but we laughed about it for a long time afterwards

Re: sleep masterbating

What Pinky described is called a "night terror". It's supposed to be very common in children. (I've been reading up on these things with my husband's little perversion and all!)

Re: sleep masterbating

I don't know about masterbating in my sleep, but I recall my dreams most all the time... very often I dream of masterbating and I wake up, well...not so much the same. ...that's what I call a female's wet dream. Similar?

Re: sleep masterbating

could be similar. but I do not remember any dreams after awakening. I do have wet dreams at times but to my knowledge it is not on a regular basis. Per my husband I will get up and use my viberator in my sleep. All of this may explain why no matter how much I sleep I still feel tired and sleepy during the day.

Re: sleep masterbating

My wife also masturbates in her sleep, and has for about two years. Until our trust shone through, and she finally realized I wasn't making this up, it nearly ruined our marriage. So I understand completely why it could be so disturbing.
She would deny my advances for a week strait, and wake me up masturbating that whole week long. It got to the point where I actually wondered if she was trying to drive me insane, or drive me to divorce her. She thought I had snapped, and was so obsessed with sex that I actually halucinated that she was masturbating, like a complete psychotic break.
It can be incredibly taxing.
She did not get up, open her eyes, or leave the bed ever, but would sometimes be using both hands so intensely that the bed would shake enough to wake me. I could talk to her with no response, touch her shoulder, nothing woke her up. If I indeed shook her awake, which I eventually did when she challenged me to, and she realized where both her hands were and that I could not have staged this without waking her, she finally knew I was telling the truth, and I finally knew she wasn't pretnding to be asleep or proceeding from some kind of sadistic torture thing!
Frankly once she found it to be true it significantly decreased...but still happens. I sometimes watch her, or join her, or most times simply roll over happy in the thought that even if in her conscious life she can't masturbate enough for her bodies liking, that she is getting hers
There are sleep disorder specialists you can see, even clinics for sleep disorders, if you really want this stopped. I suggest first clearing the air with hubby, perhaps ask him to videotape it, not because you don't believe him, but because you are shoked with yourself (if you are). This would be wise as it may be that he is dreaming that you are masturbating, another posibility.
But please know you are not alone!

Sincerely,
Tim
