Post menopausal help

Hello ladies,
I posted earlier about my wife's and my lack of sexual activity and received some extremely helpful answers. Thank you all that responded.

My question now is that I'm very concerned that when I talk to my wife she'll simply not be too interested in getting things back on track.

There's no doubt her libido is substantially lower than it was pre menopause and I guess it's difficult to talk about the excitement of sex if one of us isn't terribly worried about infrequent activity.

My wife had a particularly bad menopause experience and I don't know if that makes things even harder for her. What can be done to assist a woman with very low sex drive to regain her desire? If we talked about it and went to her Dr is there something that can be done to help? (assuming that she wants too).

I really don't want to force myself on her if she's not very interested but it would be very comforting to think that something could be done.

Once more thanks in anticipation.

Re: Post menopausal help

When her doctor diagnosed her as being in menopause did he/she suggest using HRT( hormone replacement therapy)The doctor can check her hormone levels with a blood test.

Re: Post menopausal help

Thanks. It's a few years ago now so I'm struggling to remember but to the best of my knowledge she did take some type of hormone replacement but from memory (I think) it exacerbated the symptoms so she discontinued with it. There's a bit of guesswork involved in that answer though and as things stand I don't want to ask her.

She would have finished menopause around 6-7 years ago and to be fair our sex life has been extremely poor since then. There were other issues involved with me and to be fair, at 63, my libido isn't what it was either. I guess the difference is that I miss feeling horny and I use a bit of external stimulation to keep myself fired up.

Unfortunately she doesn't do that and doesn't seem to have any desire to do it. I'll concede I wasn't the worlds best lover but for most of our married life (40 years) things were good (in my opinion anyway).

I just would like some intimacy between us again and I'm prepared to try anything to regain it.
Thanks again

Re: Post menopausal help

It might be a good idea if both of you had your hormone and testosterone levels checked since both diminish as we age.
