TOPIC: Vaginal Odor

9 years, 4 months ago #8788

Vaginal Odor

Does anyone struggle with a vaginal odor affecting your sex life?? I was treated for a gardnerella infection but still occasionally have an odor my significant other finds offensive. Is there anyone who has a similar problem? It has really affected our sex life.

Re: Vaginal Odor

I've had many vaginal infection issues and I don't know what's going on down there half the time. I will tell you this, go back to the doctor and DEMAND further testing. Many times different doctors used to just make a visual diagnosis of a yeast infection.
When I recently got tested again, they said after performing a wet mount (they take a small sample and view it on a slide under the microscope right in the office) and culture that there was no yeast which I'm still reeling from the shock of that. You see I've had (or thought) I've been plagued with non-responsive yeast infections for years. Now I find out I may have been wrong some or all of the time.
Well, now I'm trying to look into if I may be sensitive to some other factor I may have been overlooking. I hope that helps.

Re: Vaginal Odor

At another board I go to (on vulvodynia) there are a number of people (including myself) that have noticed discharge (generally white and sticky) that makes the area it touches itchy (itch goes away when it's removed...unless it's been there a while, and then it can cause redness and irritation). It has an odor, but it's not nasty or fishy. It isn't yeast. We don't know what it is. A lot of the women have had a lot of tests to rule things out. Some think it's thrush, some think it's gardnerella (that's what I think...gardnerella, not gerdnerella vaginitis which is also known as bacterial vaginitis (BV) www.bigeye.com/sexeducation/vaginosis.html
Whatever it is, no one has really seemed to be able to treat it very well. I don't know if this is what you have, but if so, you're not alone.

Its amazing how much difference some chocolate sauce for example can make down there. Find your guys favourite foods, smear it all over and hell be down there licking you all night! Its actually quite erotic too and it even arouses me when he applies it. Hope this helps.
