Pain during Intercourse
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if I could get some help with something. So about a year ago I started experiencing vaginal pain during intercourse and it is getting more severe. I can't even have sex hardly anymore. When I do, it's very uncomfortable for me. I went to my family doctor and he said there was scar tissue right at the opening front wall and an issue with my pubic bone. He referred me to a gynecologist and when I went he said that it was either vestibulitis or a psychological issue due to abuse when I was younger. Now I am sure it is not psychological (be aware that the gynecologist told me he didn't have much experience in this area). I thought it could be vestibulitis as well but it looks as though the pain occurs more in the posterior region of the vagina. I have what appears to be a scar that is about an inch in length. It is when I push on this scar that there is the most pain. I think this scar was caused by a tear during sex about a year ago and there was bleeding but thought nothing of it at the time. The gynecologist told me that I was "anatomically fine" and he didn't see anything, no scar, no damage. If my family doctor, and my boyfriend can see it, then I don't understand why he couldn't. So he gave me some Xylocaine gel to put on it before sex and he told me to use a vibrator to get it dilated. None of these things have worked. Does anyone know what I can do about this??
Thank you!
