LDL Cholesterol

Considered to be "bad" cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein is a type of cholesterol that increases the risk of heart disease.

Aanorgasmia

The delay or absence of sexual climax (orgasm).

Abdominal hysterectomy

The surgical removal of the uterus through an incision in the abdomen.

Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AID

A viral infection that attacks the immune system of the body and causes a syndrome in which many different, harmful organisms can attack the body and cause disease.

Actonel

Also known as risedronate, Actonel is a drug that has been shown to build back done density to help protect bones that are vulnerable to fracture. Actonel is used to treat and prevent Osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, to increase bone mass in men with osteoporosis, and to treat other forms of bone mass loss in men and women.

Adenocarcinomas

Cancer that begins in the cells lining of the glands of the body.

Adjuvant therapy

Treatment provided in addition to the primary treatment.

Alzheimer's disease

A progressive disease in which nerve cells in the brain degenerate and brain matter shrinks, resulting in impaired thinking, behavior and memory.
